Amazon & Wal-Mart have found a way to bypass Apples terms of use and their 30% of all sales. Each have released a web-app specifically to get around the app store. Wal-Mart for its Vudu video streaming service and Amazon in the form of an online kindle app.

Amazon’s app is available from any mobile device or Safari and Google chrome browsers. basically once you login you have access to your entire amazon kindle ebook library. The app also has the ability to make itself available offline.

The vudu app is available only on the ipad and you access it simply by navigating to vudu.com.

While i don’t imagine that this will become a huge thing with hundreds of developers setting out to write web apps to avoid the app store. It is definitely conceivable that some of the bigger hitters will move their apps to web apps to avoid the apple restrictions and rules. However, smaller dev shops are still stuck with the app store to make sure their app gets the maximum exposure.
